Wow.. what a week!
After winning my final event at Glenden shooting 66-67. I got the call at 2-30 am in the morning to come to the hospital. I was 5 hours drive away and made the frantic rush home to be by my wifes side while I watched the birth of our amazing daughter Holly Elizabeth Ballard.
I will be having a few weeks off golf, as Holly arrived 4 and half weeks early. I will be learning a different trade over the coming weeks..How to be a dad!! cant wait..
Ill keep you posted on how my next golf event, but at this stage my focus is on being a Father.

Time has flown by since the breaking news that I am going to be a dad for the 1st time.. We are expecting in July and I am extremely excited about it.
As for my recent golf results, I traveled to Sydney the week before Easter for a 2 day pro-am at Castle Hill CC, where play was was abandoned on day 2 due to torrential rain. I finished 3rd with my day 1 score of 68, -4 under par.
I have a busy playing schedule prior to our baby’s arrival. I will be traveling to South Australia (5 pro-ams) and Papua New Guinea (PNG OPEN) and Korea (One Asia event).
My game and swing feels really good as I have improved my posture at address postion, thus producing a much better ball flight. I look forward to making the most of the coming events prior to becoming a dad for the 1st time..!
Thanks to everyone for your emails and support. I love hearing from you all.
Matt.

After returning from the Victorian PGA< shooting an 8 under par total.with rounds of 70-69-71-70. I left feeling as though I had made some in roads into playing some better golf. Event though my good friend Alistair Presnell ran away with the event shooting a final round 60 on Sunday, I was pleased to have made the cut and I look forward to competing in Canberra in the upcoming weeks.
I am still currently looking for sponsorship opportunities for 2010. If you are interested in seeking more information about sponsoring Matt in some way this please contact me via my contact page under sub heading (About Matt)

I played the NZ PGA last week , missing the cut and playing in torrential rain and unusually cold weather. I was not at my best this week in these conditions. However , I will not let the weather get me down. I am back home preparing for the next event in Melbourne, VICTORIAN PGA. I do not have a direct start into the Moonah or NZ Open events this year, So I will use my time wisely to prepare for the PGA at Sandhurst in early February.

My first overseas trip beckons. I am off to New Zealand for the New Zealand PGA, and hopefully the NZ Open as well.
I enjoyed a well earned week and a half off golf over the Christmas period, then it was straight back to work! The new groove rule meant a few club changes, so I have been working hard on getting used to those.
I look forward to a brighter and better 2010 on the fairways

I have been playing pretty well all year, however, the low scores have just not eventuated. However last week was one of those weeks when it all came together.
After making the cut One Asia tournament at the Korean Open a few weeks ago, I had renewed motivation for the rest of 2009.
Last week I played three events and finished 1st, 1st and 2nd. Three under at Murwillumbah and seven under at Ballina were enough to take out the winners prize. I followed this up with 3 under at Yamba, to finish one behind the leader. My Ballina and Yamba totals were enough to take the series prize as well. A great week where it all came together - now just to continue that form into the Aussie summer!
