Almost !!

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I have a week off after almost gaining a start in the mid summer tour championships in Dallas. I have only played 2 events on the summer calendar and missed out by just 2 spots on qualifying for the tour championships.   They took the top 36 players to Dallas. I gave a up a 4 event head start to the rest of the field and only just missed.

I lead the last event going into the final round and shot a closing round 68 to finish 5th and 6 shots from winning.. !! Chris Sessler shot an amazing 60 final round to win by 4 shots. Overall I had 19 birdies for the 3 days and showed some great signs of getting back to my best. It’s a shame that I had to have a week off when I felt I was ready to kick some butt in the tour champs. Having said that, Alison arrived in town this week so  I will spend some time with her and do some practice to keep the game sharp ready for the next event when the boys return from Dallas…………… I will be ready.

This week is a special week for me, for two reasons.

Just 2 nights before the event begun my Grandma passed away and lost her battle with cancer-(Nana Rosa as i liked to call her) God bless her. So while playing this week I will be remembering all the good times and memories of my Nana Rosa.

The second reason i have many fond memories is that I am playing a tournament on the Gateway Tour at Desert Mountain where i lapped the field last year shooting a record 25 under par to win by 8 shots closing with a pair of 64’s to win. So needless to say it is filled with plenty of good memories playing a course i played so well on the year before.

This week I have drawn a rose on each of my golf balls in Memory on my Nana Rosa…. This one is for you !

You will be sadly missed by all our family. I know you will be watching over me.
