Back in Scottsdale and keener than ever to take my game to the next level after a taste on tour.

After Qualifying for the Xerox classic on the Nationwide Tour last week, It has given me a taste of what I am craving most. A spot on the PGA TOUR.

I am glad I got out of my comfort zone last week and attempted to pre qualify for the event and it almost turned out to be a very successful week. If it were not for a couple of bad lies and unfriendly bounces I was certain I would have made the cut and had a good weekend. My driving from the tee was impeccable. Probably the best its been all year. But unfortunately a pair of 72’s saw me sit the weekend out.

All that aside I am back to Gateway tour in Phoenix for another 2 weeks before I attempt another qualifier in Utah. My appetite for success these next 2 weeks could not be higher. I feel like I have moved up another gear with my motivation after the expierience I gained from last week stint competeing on the Nationwide Tour. There is no doubt in my mind that is where I want to be next year.

This weeks event is at Longbow and Alta mesa golf clubs. Two course I have played well on before. I am looking forward to getting myself into contention with a chance to win this week.

New York Nationwide Tour Event

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

After a terrible 2 days traveling to New York, lost luggage and clubs, delayed flights, canceled flights, stop overnight and not much sleep i managed to play some good golf on Monday to qualify for this weeks Nationwide event held in Rochester New York. The course we play is next door to Oak hill. Which has hosted many majors. This course has a great design and will test all aspects our game. I am looking forward to continuing to play well. Its feels great to take a trip out of my comfort zone and see what i have got to offer in the next level of golf on the Nationwide tour. I cant wait to get amongst the competition this week and keep the momentum going.

Go The Eels in the Rugby making a late dash for the finals and top 8 position and of course Go the Aussies in the Olympics !!!

It is never easy..

By that I mean its never easy to say goodbye to my wife or leave her for an extended period of time. Just before she could get settled in the states with me she jumped back on a Qantas jumbo back to Australia.

But I have a lot of golf ahead of me and an important few weeks of golf to keep me busy and my mind occupied.

Last week again i played well shooting scores of 69-69-67 (11under par) around Wigwam resort to finish tie for 12th. The week was again full of birdies. I had 16 birdies in the 3 rounds coupled with a few too many bogeys ,it could have been a lot better,  (I always say that, “i could have done better”) I guess I always can and I am never satisfied, even when I shoot 64 I always could have done better somewhere on the day. Its a good thing though!

This weeks event is at Raven and Vistancia- 2 great tracks. Following that I am off to take my game to the next level when I will pre qualify for the nationwide event in NY state Rochester.Until then…..

But the good news is my putting and routine has remained rock solid and i am reaping the rewards by holing some nice putts over the last few weeks.
