Matt Ballard – Professional Golfer, Australia

After becoming a dad in June and having some time off to be with my daughter, my golf has blossomed.Since becoming a dad I have shot a 21 under total for the past 18 tournament rounds, with a stroke average of 70.61.  This included my first four round win in Australia , at the Ian Weigh Motors Rockhampton Pro-am. Not long after, I shot 65 (7 under) to win the Horton Park Pro-am.  I have also recorded two second place finishes in recent weeks.Needless to say, being a father has relaxed me on the course somewhat and I am now on a mission to continue this form for the remainder of the year.Stay tuned.

Wow.. what a week!

After winning my final event at Glenden shooting 66-67. I got the call at 2-30 am in the morning to come to the hospital. I was 5 hours drive away and made the frantic rush home to be by my wifes side while I watched the birth of our amazing daughter Holly Elizabeth Ballard.

I will be having a few weeks off golf, as Holly arrived 4 and half weeks early.  I will be learning a different trade over the coming weeks..How to be a dad!! cant wait..

Ill keep you posted on how my next golf event,but at this stage my focus is on being a Father.
